In the middle of the 70's, the second sodium tripolyphosphate plant started operations in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, in order to satisfy the growing demand of the American Continent. In 1994 Quimir bought Polifos SA de CV, a former industries Oxi (Oxichem)'s company, dedicated as Quimir, to the production of phosphorus derivatives. With this purchase, Quimir reached three sodium tripolyphosphate plants, and incorporated to its product line, sodium hexametaphosphate and activated carbon. Currently, Quimir produces and distributes the following products: Phosphoric acid, sodium phosphates and activated carbon. Quimir attends a wide variety of markets, with a leading position in Mexico and a presence in the whole American Continent. At the moment, Quimir is a company belonging to the Mexichem's Company. |
